Editable Contractor Company Sample Templates
Contractors will be experiencing, if not already, significant delays and possible shutdown on projects with contractual obligations. Our legal attorney, SmithAmundsen, has crafted a document that specifically addresses how to properly preserve a delay claim as well as provided an editable "Notice of Delay" sample template. GCs and Building Owners are starting to ask for your company's infectious disease policy. This policy is an editable word document that you can utilize as is, or to build from.

With the constantly shifting state and local stay-at-home orders and the potential relaxing of these orders on the horizon, the question for employers still remains: What do we do if an employee has COVID-19? Once an employer receives a report that an employee has tested positive for or is presumed to have COVID-19, the employer should follow these 9 steps.

If you have PDC #30 employees who are currently utilizing the COVID-19 FFCRA two-week paid sick leave or the 10-weeks of additional paid expanded family and medical leave, not only will you be fully reimbursed for those employee wages, but also some benefits. FCAI suggests that contractor members continue to contribute into the PDC #30 Health and Welfare fund on their employees behalf, while on leave, since employers will be reimbursed for that contribution through weekly payroll tax credits.

The U.S. Department of Treasury’s Small Business Administration (SBA) released the much anticipated Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan forgiveness application. PPP loan borrowers will submit this application to their lenders to request forgiveness of part or all of their PPP loan.
While the SBA noted in its press release that it would be issuing additional regulations and guidance to:
- Assist borrowers in completing the application and;
- Provide guidance to lenders on their responsibilities in the forgiveness process.
CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act - Paycheck Protection Program
President Trump signed the $2.2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on March 27th. The CARES Act is the third economic stimulus package Congress has passed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and its size and scope make it the largest stimulus package the U.S. has ever passed.
The CARES Act establishes a new $349 billion Paycheck Protection Program. The Program will provide much-needed relief to millions of small businesses so they can sustain their businesses and keep their workers employed.
The new loan program will be available retroactive from February 15, 2020, so employers can rehire their recently laid-off employees through June 30,2020. - CARES Act - Small Business Owner's Guide - The Illinois Economic Development Association (IEDA) has released a Q&A guide that provides information about the major programs and initiatives that will soon be available from the Small Business Administration (SBA) to address these needs, as well as some additional tax provisions that are outside the scope of SBA.
HR 6201 - Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)
On March 18th, President Trump signed into law HR 6201 - Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). This new law mandates two new types of paid leave:
- Public Health Emergency Leave (Emergency FMLA)
- Emergency Paid Sick Leave (Emergency PSL)
These mandates are set to expire on December 31, 2020.
